Creative Writing Workshop With An Author at Under 1 Roof
A rare opportunity to celebrate book week in a workshop with a real life author!
To celebrate world book day, Under 1 Roof is offering a brand new workshop which will bring ‘BOUNDERS’, the book inspired by Under 1 Roof, to life. Working with author and creator Laura James, the workshops will explore the themes and characters of the book, and take it from page to stage. Children will have a chance to script, rehearse and perform sections of the book.
Workshops are for KS1 and KS2, and will run throughout March 2018.
Each workshop is half a day with groups of 30 children at a time.
Every school will be sent a copy of BOUNDERS to read with the children before their visit. After the workshop, the children can each buy a signed copy of the BOUNDERS book to keep.
£300 for a half day session
£100 for 30 BOUNDERS signed books (optional)
Email email@example.com for more information!
Bounders is a story about the girl on the swing in our Under 1 Roof logo, which captures the ethos that ‘anything is possible if you try’. The pictures and rhymes in the book are for children of all ages, and the workshops can be tailored for KS1 and KS2.
The book introduces the start of a new super hero network. It takes you on a journey to the Open World where you will meet unique and vibrant characters from the Bounders network.
“Ida lives with her brothers two,
Her mum, dad, 3 cats, quite a crew.
Most days Ida is a bag of smiles
With energy that can run for miles.
Ida thinks she has super powers,
That spit and start like a broken shower.
Ida can see things no one can,
In testing times she has the plan.
She really wants to save the planet,
She just hasn’t figured out how to yet……”
An extract from the Bounders story.
